Advances & More News / Germany: Minor Neuropsychological Deficits Indicate Risk for Progression to Alzheimer Disease

For patients with subjective cognitive decline (SCD), minor neuropsychological deficits (MNPD) are associated with Alzheimer disease-related clinical progression, according to a study published online Oct. 11 in Neurology. Melina Stark, from the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases in Tübingen, and colleagues compared cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) amyloid-β (Aβ)42/Aβ40, phosphorylated tau (p-tau181), total tau, and Aβ42/p-tau181 levels, longitudinal cognitive composite trajectories, and risk for clinical progression to incident mild cognitive impairment (MCI) among patients with SCD with and without MNPD.
